About The Position

Diodes Incorporated is seeking Experienced Semiconductor Equipment Technicians interested in nightshift to join our South Portland Maine Facility. These positions require a flexible schedule, and the willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, with 3 days on/3 days off. Nightshift provides a 15% shift differential on top of the base pay with working hours: 6:00pm to 6:00am. Initial work hours may involve daytime training, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 5 days per week for 10 to 52 weeks. Work is performed within a clean room environment that requires the wearing of a smock, hood, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses. Position may require the use of airline respirators and may require occasional wearing of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, aprons, gauntlets, and full-face masks. Requires standing for up to 75% of shift and lifting of objects that weigh up to 50 lbs. May require work with hazardous gases, chemicals, and high voltage.

Requirements

  • Possess an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies or Electromechanical Technologies or Military Equivalent, or other relevant equipment maintenance education/experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical issues and vacuum systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use digital multimeters and voltage supplies.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Semiconductor equipment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for multiple activities in support of manufacturing, focusing on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, and continuous improvements.
  • Perform repairs and procedures in an environment where toxic gas, acids, solvents, high voltage, and kinetic energy hazards may exist.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems that may include support equipment such as servo motors and controllers, stepper motors and controllers, AC motors and controllers, and DC motors and controllers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electro-pneumatic systems that include solenoid valves, gate valves, high vacuum isolation valves, vacuum pumps and pneumatic logic circuits.
  • Complete all scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repair procedures in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.
  • Learn, understand and follow all safety documentation, specs and protocol, including LOTO.
  • Identify any/all safety concerns and regulatory violations in order to eradicate them.
  • Be cross trained in other areas as needed.
  • Work with hazardous gases, chemicals, and high voltage.
  • Handle chemicals, including acids, bases, and solvents.
  • Handle gas systems, including toxic, corrosive, flammable, pyrophoric, and asphyxiant gases.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and vacuum systems.
  • Read electrical schematics.
  • Use digital multimeters and voltage supplies.
  • Work well in a collaborative environment, and as part of a team.
  • Work outside of normal schedule, cross train, and multi-task as needed.
