About The Position

Public Storage is hiring a Customer Service - Self Storage Manager to work independently across multiple locations, both indoors and outdoors. The role involves helping customers identify storage needs and recommending storage options and packing and moving supplies. Managers inspect storage units, verify inventory and availability, handle cash drawers and bank deposits, and contact customers about payments when needed. The position also includes facility cleaning and daily maintenance.

Requirements

• Experience in a customer-service-centered sales environment, such as retail, restaurant, fast food, or another service-based company.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to use a personal vehicle to travel between work locations and conduct other work-related business.
• Ability to lift, move, or transport items weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to walk around facilities, climb stairs, and open large doors; the role may require spending up to 50% of the time outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assess customers’ storage needs and recommend suitable options and packing and moving supplies.
• Inspect storage units daily to confirm inventory and availability and ensure spaces are ready to rent.
• Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits.
• Help customers stay current with payments and make reminder and collection calls when required.
• Clean and maintain facilities, including sweeping and mopping interior areas and keeping exterior grounds and curb appeal free of debris.
• Travel between properties and other work-related locations using a personal vehicle.
