About The Position

The Selector inspects and packs glass containers on production lines. The role involves checking containers and cartons for defects, packing acceptable products into specified shipping containers, removing defective ware, and helping maintain the flow of production equipment. The Selector also reports defects and machine malfunctions and maintains safe, orderly work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours.
• Ability to lift forty (40) pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of specialized inspection methods, including gauging and testing equipment.
• Stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Reselect and/or replace ware as required.
• Visually inspect glass containers for defects to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Inspect cartons and interiors for damage and pack acceptable ware into specified shipping containers.
• Discard defective ware into the cullet conveyor or proper receptacle for removal.
• Unjam carton and ware conveyor systems equipment and case packers to maintain the flow of product.
• Report defects and machine malfunctions to Auditors and Supervisor.
• Maintain safety through good housekeeping and good work methods.
• Perform housekeeping.
• Perform other production duties as assigned.
