About The Position

At BrightFarms, the Seeding Lead supports the Agriculture team in operating the seeding department. The role leads seeding team members during production runs, provides daily guidance, and assists with staff scheduling. The position also supports the Grower and Head Grower with daily tasks and trial execution. The work takes place in greenhouse, warehouse, and cooler environments.

Requirements

• Previous farm operations experience, including crop planting and equipment management.
• Strong verbal and written leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train employees in day-to-day processes and procedures.
• Ensure daily sowing goals are achieved.
• Manage daily seeding team production tasks, including daily seeder cleaning, scheduled preventive maintenance, cleaning and plucking greenhouse drippers, flushing irrigation lines, and greenhouse cleaning.
• Oversee proper ordering and timely delivery of agricultural inputs, including seeds and media, and ensure seeding-line inputs comply with food safety and quality requirements.
• Record operational data, including NetSuite assembly builds, food safety and operational paperwork, seeding accuracy measurements, and seed usage.
• Communicate issues to the Maintenance department by creating work orders or contacting the team directly in emergencies.
• Collaborate and communicate with peers and cross-functional teams to support smooth operations and exceptional gutter quality.
• Maintain positive, open, and professional working relationships with colleagues and management.
• Work with the Grower and Head Grower to execute trials.
• Support the Grower and Head Grower with daily tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
