About The Position

The Seeding Lead coordinates daily seeding and harvest operations and crew activities to meet the daily plan safely and efficiently. The role follows supervisor instructions and standardized practices, with an emphasis on achieving required results. The position is based at BrightFarms’ Hendersonville, North Carolina greenhouse and is listed for second shift (overnight). The posting gives a base pay of $23.00.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a production environment or related work experience.
• Training in food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules, and label-mixing instructions.
• Ability to complete routine food safety logs and inspection reports.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the food or agriculture industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the harvest and sowing crew in daily operations to meet daily plans and goals; correct errors and provide feedback as needed.
• Train and educate crew members in operating procedures, emphasizing safety and food safety.
• Follow current SOPs, procedures, inspections, and quality requirements.
• Notify the supervisor when product or equipment irregularities occur.
• Create daily harvest and sowing plans under supervisor guidance and make decisions as instructed.
• Ensure testing records and charts are completed accurately according to company and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure the harvest and sowing crew maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and performs periodic sanitation as required.
• Report food safety and quality problems to the Supervisor, SQF Practitioner, or Senior Management.
