About The Position

The Staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a select group of patients/families for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients during admission, Phase 1 and Phase 2 anesthesia up to and including transfer/discharge. Driscoll Children’s Hospital and its specialty centers, urgent care centers, and after-hours facility serve a vast area covering 31 South Texas counties. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current RN License in the state of Texas
CPR Certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Phase I Recovery Staff.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Bilingual preferred
Pediatric experience required
Critical Care experience preferred
Must test for a unit specific certification (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse - CPAN, Certified Ambulatory Per anesthesia Nurse –CAPA) upon qualification to sit for exam
