This is a part-time (0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week) day shift position for a Pediatric Sedation/Vascular Access Nurse at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, engaging patients and families, monitoring conditions, and collaborating with the care team. The nurse will uphold a culture of safety, pursue professional development, and adhere to ethical practices. Responsibilities include EHR documentation, potential floating to other units, and providing age-appropriate care. The position requires a graduate of an approved nursing program, BLS certification, and an active RN license. Typically, 1 year of clinical nursing experience is required, along with strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills. Proficiency in computer functions is also necessary. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist, with the capacity to lift and support 35 pounds, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform sliding transfers. Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine hand manipulation skills are essential. The role may involve exposure to hazardous materials and require the use of protective equipment. Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
