The Security Technician is responsible for installing project specific devices to the standards of all fire alarm, building and electrical codes. The installation technician will also mentor, train and coach the entry level technician who assists them on jobsites. This role requires the ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb ladders, stand, and walk. The technician must be able to safely drive a company vehicle or personal vehicle for business purposes. Proficiency in using computers, laptops, and specialized software for programming security, access, CCTV, nurse call, or sound systems is essential. The technician will coordinate with project managers and other trades, monitor outside contractor work, and troubleshoot system problems. Responsibilities include analyzing blueprints, installing cabling and devices, running conduit, and maintaining tools and equipment. The role also involves following safety policies, communicating effectively, working from lifts, using company software for service tickets and job information, obtaining necessary licenses and certifications, attending training, and being willing to work after normal business hours, weekends, and travel when necessary. A high degree of integrity, honesty, and the ability to tolerate diverse customer personalities are required, along with excellent people and organizational skills.
