About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, planning, operating, installing, and routine maintenance to Access Control security system, video surveillance systems, visitor management systems, Crisis Alert systems, and HALO smart sensors for district staff and vendors. The Security Analyst provides security and ensures that sensitive information is thoroughly protected. This position is report to the Director of Network Infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field of study preferred
  • Networking experience or certification preferred
  • System Administration experience or certification
  • Experience in Identity Management Systems
  • Skills in problem-solving, attention to detail, prompt documentation and time management
  • 5 to 7 years’ IT and access control experience
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair physical security devices—including cameras, access control systems, and sensors—by identifying hardware, wiring, and connectivity issues.
  • Ability to summarize complex technical issues both orally and in writing, and to justify recommendations for large scale network changes and implementations
  • Ability to work in collaboration with staff that have varying technology skills as well as work independently when necessary
  • Ability to review and approve testing and implementation plans for proposed solutions
  • Ability to problem solve information technology networks, systems, and applications as it applies to projects
  • Ability to work with systems, network, and other groups in Technology Support Services to effectively communicate changes and technical problems to get them resolved in a timely manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making critical decisions
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for evaluating project needs and implementation timelines
  • Ability to negotiate, and to resolve conflict

Responsibilities

  • The Security Analyst will help the Senior Security Engineer identify flaws in the infrastructure and make decisions based on technical analysis.
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Student Safety and Security team, Technology Project Manager, Senior Systems Engineer, adjacent technology teams, Human Resources, and the Operations Service Center.
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, and monitoring the access control system software (Avigilon Unity Access), hardware, keycards, access, and servers.
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, and monitoring all aspects of the video surveillance systems, including IP security cameras, surveillance network, Network Video Recorder systems, and any integrated components therein.
  • Duties include but are not limited to hardware installation, hardware replacements, completing work orders as assigned, troubleshooting physical security system software and hardware on site throughout the district.
  • Assist with Identity and Access Control within the Access Control Management system, assigning keyless access to district staff, as well as non-staff vendors and contractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
