About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Security System Service Technician. This role involves troubleshooting and servicing security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and Card Access systems. The technician will be responsible for repairing or replacing faulty equipment, advising customers on system status, and conducting inspections. This position allows for independent work from a remote location, with the technician equipped with necessary tools and equipment. The goal is to provide the highest level of service, resolve service-related issues, and identify opportunities for upselling and providing solutions to ensure facility efficiency.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 4-5 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras.
Mass or Maine Electrical license.
Excellent communication skills.
Electrical/Electronic background.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Fire alarm experience preferred.
Some college preferred.
NICET II or greater preferred.
HIRSCH Certificate.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and service security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and Card Access systems.
Repair or replace damaged equipment or wiring.
Test equipment for proper operation after repairs.
Advise customers and the customer care center of system status.
Conduct inspections of security systems.
Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency.
Upsell opportunities and provide quotes for recommended solutions.
Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
