About The Position

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Security Supervisor to be responsible for asset protection, theft, and fraud. This role leads and executes theft mitigation strategies to reduce theft and fraud incidents, and creates and maintains a safe club environment through theft deterrence, member engagement, and physical security standards. The Security Supervisor will also support the Front End Manager with training and development of Member Experience Ambassadors and partner with RAPM and Home Office on the execution of 3rd party guard deployment. This position monitors and executes all company asset protection programs.

Requirements

  • Prior, Law Enforcement, asset protection, safety, and/or inventory control experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results.
  • Open shift availability required.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, grocery and/or management experience is preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute theft mitigation strategy designed to reduce the number of theft and fraud incidents.
  • Create and maintain a safe club environment through the execution of theft deterrence strategies, member engagement and delivery of our physical security standards.
  • Support Front End Manager with training and development of Member Experience Ambassadors.
  • Partner with RAPM and Home Office on execution of 3rd party guard deployment.
  • Monitor and execute all company asset protection programs.
  • Develops/teaches company asset protection programs and initiatives.
  • Investigates results from inventory count program to identify theft activity.
  • Executes Asset Protection Routines as outlined in the Asset Protection Supervisor Calendar pertaining to theft and fraud.
  • Execute merchandise protection standards focused on current club theft trends.
  • Partner with RAPM and investigate internal and external theft, fraud, and organized retail crime cases.
  • Assist RAPM in deployment of 3rd Party Guards.
  • Act as liaison between club leadership and local police department and community.
  • Communicate results of investigations and provide updates to leadership based upon facts of each case.
  • Conduct weekly CCTV review per the Asset Protection calendar.
  • Complete weekly data entry of inventory recoveries per the Asset Protection calendar.
  • Manage, review, and resolve losses identified through exception-based reporting and cash variances.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures.
  • Teach, coach and lead through the club level training process.
  • Support team member engagement within all areas of responsibility to enable the application of policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Drive a culture of development, strategic thinking and acting, ethical decision making and engagement.
  • Lead with the team member and member in mind to address all concerns and to escalate any concerns, as appropriate.

  • Maintain company merchandise protection program.
  • Monitor lockup cage ensuring it is clean and organized daily.
  • Ensure Member Experience Ambassadors are trained and knowledgeable in recent theft trends.
  • Acquire a deep knowledge of key metrics and reporting for total club and department performance.
  • Drive performance and profitability by using reporting to identify theft trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Have the foresight to identify theft activity and develop a plan to mitigate before it negatively impacts the club.
  • Communicate a simple message to your team on the connection between consistent operational performance and achieving club financial targets.
