About The Position

We are hiring a Security Specialist to provide technical security support to a DoD Project Office. This position will be onsite in Huntsville, AL. The Security Specialist will interpret, implement, and administer security policy; monitor personnel access quotas, program access requests, and conduct program indoctrinations and debriefings. They will assist in the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary security functions to include INFOSEC, PERSEC, Physical Security, and OPSEC for a DoD Project Office. Additionally, the role involves assisting in providing an effective Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program, conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, pre-/post-foreign travel briefings, refresher briefings, and other briefings as needed. Support for Classified Meeting preparation and SVTC setup, as well as reviewing, interpreting, and maintaining Security Classification Guides (SCGs) are key responsibilities. The specialist will also assign and update building badges, ensure security policies and procedures are compliant with government and customer requirements, escort non-cleared personnel, identify deficiencies and implement best practices, interpret security doctrine and provide clear guidance to employees, and prepare and ship classified packages IAW DoD guidelines.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA, or in lieu of degree, 12 years of applicable experience with H.S. diploma.
  • Experrience with Government security regulations, including NISPOM, and experience with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) processes.
  • Experience with security databases such as DISS, NBIS, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with 32 CFR 117, National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), Contract Security Classification Specification (DD Form 254), and Program Classification Guides.
