About The Position

The Security Specialist II is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of corporate security initiatives, responding to alarms and emergencies, and ensuring the functionality of security systems. This role provides guidance on site-specific security concerns, manages access control and badging systems, and assists with investigations. The specialist acts as the eyes and ears for Corporate Security Management, maintains the security posture of the assigned site, and writes reports on findings and incidents. They also support facilities and administrative staff, stay current on best practices, and prioritize tasks effectively. This position requires the ability to think critically under pressure, work independently, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. A strong understanding of corporate security procedures and physical security devices is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with other departments and represent Corporate Security and Facilities to senior managers. The role also involves handling confidential information professionally and working effectively in both independent and team settings, managing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines. The ability to handle stress, manage high work volumes, and adapt to frequent change is crucial, along with understanding and applying de-escalation tactics.

Requirements

  • 2+ years Guard/Security Specialist I experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
  • Confidential security clearance with ability to achieve Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Industry relevant certifications (ASIS PSP) a plus
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to achieve Confidential security clearance
  • Military or Law Enforcement experience a plus
  • Security experience from Military or other organized training program

Responsibilities

  • Responds to alarms, alerts, and all emergencies
  • Oversees the day-to-day implementation of corporate security initiatives
  • Ensures that all security systems and devices (such as alarms, video, locks, and door hardware) are properly functional and requests services as needed
  • Oversees security device installations and repairs
  • Provides guidance and recommendations around site specific security concerns to Corporate Security Management and other teams
  • Administer local access control and badging systems, as well as local badge deployment
  • Assist with conducting investigations into basic security issues
  • Acts as “eyes and ears on the ground” for Corporate Security Management
  • Complies with post orders to ensure security posture of assigned site
  • Writes reports on daily security findings and incidents
  • Supports facilities and administrative staff with basic facilities needs
  • Stay current on best practices
  • Prioritize emergency situations, daily responsibilities, and long-term projects
  • Able to think on their feet and make critical decisions in high pressure situations
  • Able to work independently with little on-site supervision
  • Good ability to communicate in written reports and via email
  • Good understanding of Corporate Security Procedures
  • Good understanding of Physical Security Devices
  • Able to partner with other departments and be a representative of Corporate Security and Facilities to local senior managers
