About The Position

Security officer means any persons whose primary duties are to protect persons or property. Security officers means non-commissioned. Security Officers are not authorized to exercise police officer powers. Responsible for investigation of criminal offenses that occur on facility property. Enforce facility rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum 200 hours of Police training at an Ohio Peace Training Council accredited academy.
• OPOTA- Required Basic Security Guard Training.
• State required 20 hours of firearms Training
• Valid Ohio driver’s license required
• Ability to work under pressure with many interruptions while remaining calm and pleasant to the public and facility personnel.
• Good written and oral communications and organizational skills.
• Some typing and computer experience required.
• Effective telephone skills.

Nice To Haves

• Six months’ previous security or law enforcement experience is preferred.
• Computer skills desirable
