About The Position

Novolex is seeking a Security Solutions Architect to lead the architectural design of secure, scalable enterprise platforms. This role focuses on embedding security into system, application, cloud, and data architectures rather than operating day-to-day security controls. You will define security architecture patterns, guide design decisions, and influence technology strategy while balancing risk, usability, and business objectives. This position will be based out of Lake Forest, IL, Charlotte, NC, or remote.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise technology roles with significant focus on security architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience applying security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and OWASP at the architectural level
  • 3+ years of experience in designing solutions in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level discussions
  • Experience defining zero trust architectures and guiding their adoption across platforms
  • Strong knowledge of CyberArk or other PAM software and framework
  • Protocol mastery (DMARC/DKIM/SPF)

Responsibilities

  • Define security architecture principles, reference architectures, and design patterns for enterprise systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Provide architectural review and guidance for new initiatives, major design changes, and technology selections
  • Evaluate proposed architectures to identify systemic risk, design gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Support security tooling decisions from an architectural fit and integration perspective
  • Communicate architectural decisions and risk posture effectively to technical and business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with IT, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen detection and response maturity.
  • Maintain and update cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to align with enterprise requirements and industry frameworks.
  • Coordinate the policy lifecycle including drafting, review, approvals, and recertification.
  • Ensure organizational alignment to governance requirements and escalate non‑adherence.
  • Track execution of the cybersecurity roadmap.
  • Collect program updates from domain owners and ensure alignment to governance expectations.
  • Identify gaps or risks affecting program objectives and recommend remediation.
  • Maintain and report on cybersecurity KPIs, KRIs, and dashboards.
  • Validate data sources and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Develop executive‑level governance materials.
  • Maintain alignment of the cybersecurity program to regulatory and industry frameworks.
  • Support governance processes for risks, exceptions, and policy deviations.
  • Participate in governance committees and support control adherence documentation.
  • Facilitate governance meetings and follow‑ups.
  • Enforce standards for consistency across cyber domains.
  • Act as a central coordination point for governance initiatives.
