About The Position
The Commercial Installer works onsite with commercial customers to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role also involves dismantling and reconstructing equipment when necessary. The installer may manage installation teams on larger projects and coach and mentor less experienced installers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience, with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
Nice To Haves
- Some technical school training.
Responsibilities
- Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
- Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, property damage, and loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
- Contact customers before scheduled installation dates to verify the schedule.
- Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or supervisor directions.
- Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
- Test system operation to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
- Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
- Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and handle records required for emergency-call notification.
- Manage installation teams on larger projects when needed.
- Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
