About The Position

The Security Operations Supervisor coordinates and supervises the daily operations of contracted security personnel assigned to South Louisiana Community College locations. This role acts as the field supervisor for the Office of Campus Security at the Lafayette Campus, responding to incidents, preparing reports, and coordinating security personnel schedules. The supervisor is also responsible for training new personnel, performing payroll administration, and serving as a liaison between the College and the security services provider. Key duties include monitoring access control, conducting security audits, supporting the parking program, and being available for emergencies 24/7. The position may require fulfilling post duties at other SoLAcc campuses on occasion. The role emphasizes professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and accountability in all interactions and operational activities, fostering a culture of safety and customer service among security personnel. The supervisor supports campus security procedures, assists with incident reviews, and contributes to safety and emergency preparedness initiatives, working with public safety agencies when necessary and reporting student-related incidents to Judicial Services. Team relations involve supporting emergency preparedness efforts, including drills and training activities.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in a security, safety, or risk management-related field

  • Ability to conduct inspections, security audits, and operational assessments to identify risks or procedural deficiencies.
  • Ability to support emergency preparedness activities including drills, exercises, evacuation procedures, lockdown protocols, and active threat response initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to learn and utilize security-related technology systems including access control systems, surveillance platforms, incident reporting systems, scheduling systems, and work order platforms.
  • Ability to maintain accurate electronic records and operational documentation.
  • Ability to perform payroll verification, scheduling coordination, and administrative tracking functions accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to provide professional assistance to students, employees, visitors, and community partners.
  • Ability to respond to operational needs, incidents, or emergencies outside of standard working hours when necessary.
  • Criminal Background Clearance required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
