About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations & Systems, the Security Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting day-to-day security operations across Trillium Health Partners. This role works closely with contracted security partners to ensure service delivery meets departmental standards, operational requirements, and key performance indicators. The Security Operations Coordinator is a proactive operations professional who brings a people‑centred, safety‑focused approach to security and works effectively both independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a complex healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of frontline security experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience within hospital operations and complex healthcare environments
  • Working knowledge of security systems and software platforms (e.g., Perspective, Genetec)
  • Completion of Control Tactics / Use of Force (CT/UOF) training
  • Current knowledge and understanding of applicable municipal, provincial, and federal legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and support frontline teams
  • High standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain focus for extended periods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and external partners
  • Commitment to supporting the vision and values of Trillium Health Partners and the Security Operations department

  • CPP or CHPA designation considered an asset
  • Active involvement in, or membership with, security‑related professional associations considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Oversee contracted security staff and maintain ongoing liaison with security service providers
  • Manage and support all aspects of daily security operations across THP sites
  • Ensure contracted security staff maintain appropriate credentials and certifications
  • Monitor and ensure staff performance aligns with site-specific levelling and evaluation frameworks
  • Lead daily security huddles and facilitate regular staff meetings in collaboration with security vendors
  • Review, investigate, and escalate high-level incidents to internal stakeholders as required
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental and corporate policies and procedures
  • Foster a positive work environment by supporting frontline staff growth, development, and performance
  • Prepare and deliver security awareness presentations for internal and external partners
  • Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to assess, prioritize, and respond to emergency situations
  • Participate on required committees and attend safety and planning meetings
  • Collect, analyze, and present statistical data; conduct security audits and operational reviews
  • Support Human Resources processes related to contracted staff, including selection, supervision, and training
  • Participate in meetings with internal departments and external partners
  • Coordinate and complete high-level internal investigations and follow-up actions
  • Review security-related incidents and provide recommendations to support continuous learning and improvement
  • Collaborate with the Systems Project Manager to maintain a working knowledge of security systems and equipment troubleshooting requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the Fire Marshal and participate in site-specific emergency drills
  • Participate in a six-week on-call rotation and provide after-hours support during emergencies
  • Travel and rotate between THP sites and affiliated off-site locations as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
