About The Position

At Beowulf E&D, we manage the critical infrastructure that keeps next-generation technology online. At our Barker, New York facility, the Security Operations Center plays a central role in protecting people, facilities, and assets through continuous monitoring, rapid incident response, and disciplined communication. We are seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Supervisor to provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the SOC. This role coordinates response to security events, serves as an escalation point for critical incidents, and helps ensure consistent adherence to security policies and procedures in a 24/7 environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in security operations, a Security Operations Center, command center, or a related environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Strong working knowledge of physical security systems, including access control, CCTV/video surveillance, and alarms.
  • Hands-on experience with Genetec Security Center, including access control, video, alarms, or monitoring modules.
  • Strong decision-making, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate calmly during high-priority events.
  • Ability to produce clear incident records and maintain strict standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, occasionally stand or walk, use hands for controls and tools, maintain close and distance vision, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a SOC, command center, security operations, or other 24/7 operational environment.
  • Experience coordinating with Facilities, HR, IT, Legal, emergency responders, vendors, or law enforcement during security incidents.
  • Experience supporting security technology testing, system troubleshooting, procedural updates, or workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily SOC operations to support continuous monitoring coverage and effective incident response.
  • Ensure access control events, video surveillance alerts, intrusion alarms, and emergency notifications are handled accurately and promptly.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical incidents and coordinate response with internal teams and external partners.
  • Lead real-time response to access control violations, life safety events, workplace violence concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Ensure security incidents are properly documented, investigated, and reported in accordance with policy.
  • Partner with Physical Security, Facilities, HR, IT, Legal, vendors, and local law enforcement when required.
  • Conduct after-action reviews and recommend practical improvements to processes, procedures, and response readiness.
  • Mentor and coach SOC operators and analysts, provide shift briefings and training, and reinforce professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Oversee the daily use and operational health of access control, VMS, intrusion detection, mass notification, and incident management platforms.
