MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a SOC Director , the work you’ll do at GDIT will be essential to the mission of the customer’s cybersecurity program . You will play a crucial role in leading 24x7 security monitoring, incident response, and threat detection services that safeguard statewide systems, data, and critical infrastructure .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of related cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years managing or directing SOC operations
  • Expert knowledge of: SOC operations, SIEM/SOAR platforms, threat analysis, incident response, and security engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with government or regulated environments; strong communication skills; demonstrated ability to manage high‑visibility incidents and stakeholder expectations
  • Prior experience managing teams of 10 or more, in a Security Operations setting.
  • Ability to pass required background checks

Responsibilities

  • Lead/Manage/Support all SOC operational activities, ensuring rapid detection, triage, and response to security incidents while maintaining contractual SLAs and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership, agency stakeholders, security engineers, and incident response teams to maintain a unified, effective security posture
  • Drive continuous improvement of SOC processes, analyst performance, detection capabilities, and service delivery through innovation, automation, and data-driven decision-making
  • Utilize SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence platforms, logging infrastructure, and other enterprise security technologies to enhance monitoring and incident response effectiveness
