The Security Officer is the primary responder for all safety concerns, security incidents, and service requests at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Children's. The role is part of the department's efforts to deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document concerns or incidents that risk the safety and well-being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members, and property. This is achieved by utilizing appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures, and/or non-violent crisis intervention methods. The Crisis Intervention Specialist, under the direction of Security leadership and guidance of PBMU nursing leadership, is the primary responder for all safety concerns in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (PBMU), both individually and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
