Security Officer - Part Time Access Governance

About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer focused on access governance in Sterling, Virginia, you will help safeguard a construction-focused client location. You will manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor visitor and contractor activity, maintain clear records, and provide professional customer service. You will communicate security-related concerns and remain visible to help deter incidents. The role offers a schedule of Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The pay rate is $27.14 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify authorized entry credentials, maintain visitor and contractor records, and help deter unauthorized access.
Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, construction areas, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter.
Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
