About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a cultural institution in Santa Ana, California. The officer will monitor and patrol the site, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents. The role includes routine armed patrols, responding to security-related concerns, and providing customer service and clear communication to visitors and staff. The position is scheduled Thursday from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at a pay rate of $30.50 per hour. The officer will carry authorized firearms and related equipment in accordance with applicable laws, company policies, training, and site-specific requirements. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements may apply before employment, depending on state and local regulations.

Requirements

Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout galleries, collection areas, offices, entrances, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, and assist with visitor flow, special events, and restricted-area access in accordance with site procedures.
Carry authorized firearms and related equipment in accordance with applicable laws, Allied Universal policies, training, and site-specific requirements.
