About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed patrol Security Officer in Hartford, Connecticut. The role serves and safeguards clients at a retail distribution location, conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, responding to security-related concerns, and providing customer service. The position requires clear communication, sound judgment, integrity, and a commitment to supporting a reliable team. The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $28.00 per hour. Employees may use the Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law, and must participate in industry-specific security training.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and team members by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout distribution, warehouse, office, parking, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, and track incoming and outgoing personnel, vehicles, deliveries, and contractors in accordance with site policies.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, using de-escalation techniques and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency responders.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required documentation about patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
