About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Credential Issuance in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic aerospace and defense location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile team that puts people first, works together, and acts with integrity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Verify identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and vehicle access documentation in accordance with established access control requirements.
• Monitor entry and exit points, maintain accurate visitor and contractor logs, issue temporary access credentials as authorized, and report access discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, building areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
