About The Position

Protects the company's assets and provides a safe environment for employees and guests at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino. The Security Officer enforces company security regulations, patrols the casino, guards money transfers, performs security-related duties, and helps ensure casino regulations are followed. The position also provides first-responder medical assistance, including first aid, CPR, and AED use when necessary, and may conduct investigations under the direction of the Security Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid ID.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with coworkers as part of a team.
Well-groomed appearance.
Honesty and trustworthiness.
Good attendance record.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
Clean motor vehicle record, verified before employment.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, including screening for illegal drugs restricted by state or federal law and unlawful medication.
Pass the physical test of CPR training within 30 days of employment.
Ability to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino and run.
Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds in each hand simultaneously for short distances and assist in moving heavy carts.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods, regardless of weather conditions.
Ability to push heavy loads; bend, reach, kneel, twist, grip, stoop, and crouch.
Ability to work independently, remain alert and observant, and monitor radio traffic in a noisy casino environment.
Ability to be firm yet polite when necessary and exercise good judgment in adverse situations.
Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace and respond to visual, olfactory, and aural cues.
Ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Enforce company security regulations.
Guard transfers of money and patrol throughout the casino.
Perform security-related duties for the casino.
Represent the company and its property and ensure casino regulations are followed at all times.
Patrol all sections of the casino to identify safety hazards and security breaches.
Maintain confidentiality according to Harrah’s guidelines.
Provide first-responder medical assistance, including first aid, CPR, and AED use when necessary, following proper procedures and techniques.
Initiate and conduct investigations when necessary under the direction of the Security Supervisor.
Meet attendance guidelines and comply with regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Act as a role model and represent Harrah’s positively, encouraging others to do the same.
Perform other duties as assigned.
