About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an access-control and incident-response role at a healthcare location in Lansing, Michigan. The officer helps maintain a welcoming and controlled environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, assisting visitors, and responding to security-related concerns. The role calls for strong communication and customer-service skills to help deter incidents and support daily operations. The listed schedule is Friday and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Pay is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff while following site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency-response activities as appropriate.
Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, screening visitors, issuing temporary access credentials, and maintaining visitor records according to site procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, restricted areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
Maintain accurate logs and reports of access-control activity, incidents, and security-related concerns, and communicate professionally with site personnel and emergency responders.
