About The Position

As a Security Officer in a healthcare setting in Poway, California, you will help create a welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and supporting security-related procedures. You will provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, communicate professionally, and remain visible while helping identify concerns. This is a full-time position paying $23.00 per hour. The schedule includes Monday 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Tuesday 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m., and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
A valid guard card or license is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet patients, visitors, and staff and communicate screening requirements professionally and compassionately.
Conduct health screening activities at designated healthcare facility entry points in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
Verify visitor access requirements and direct patients and visitors to appropriate entrances, departments, and resources.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
Deter unauthorized access and support a welcoming healthcare environment through attentive observation and adherence to security-related procedures.
