Security Officer - Residential Building
About The Position
As an unarmed Security Officer at a residential care location in a shelter setting, you will help safeguard residents, visitors, staff, and clients. You will maintain a visible presence, monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access-control procedures, and provide welcoming customer service. The role involves professional communication, accurate documentation, and teamwork to support a caring and orderly environment. This is a part-time position scheduled Friday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.58 per hour. Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients by following site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, entrances, common areas, and perimeter, identifying and reporting security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and help maintain an orderly environment.
- Prepare accurate activity logs and incident reports documenting observations, actions taken, and relevant information for site management.
