About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a gated residential community in Laguna Niguel, California. The officer will help provide a welcoming, controlled environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, assisting residents, guests, and vendors, documenting security-related activity, and helping deter unauthorized access. The role includes customer service, access control, incident response, and regular patrols.

The position pays $19.00 per hour and has a mixed-shift schedule: Monday through Wednesday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles, and must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and assisting with emergency response when appropriate.
• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian entry points, verify authorized access, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Complete accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations according to site procedures.
