About The Position

Premier Protective Security is hiring a part-time, OPOTA-certified Armed Security Officer for the Pilot Travel Center in Vandalia, Ohio. The role helps maintain a safe and secure environment by safeguarding and patrolling the premises, enforcing site regulations and directives, providing customer service and information, and responding calmly to incidents and critical situations. The position requires carrying a personal semi-automatic firearm in 9mm or .45 caliber and standing and/or walking for the entire shift. The scheduled shift is Saturday and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Pay is $20 per hour and is non-negotiable. Requirements

Must possess a valid OPOTA (Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy) certification or license.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must have at least 2 years of prior security experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
Must provide a personal semi-automatic firearm in 9mm or .45 caliber.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entire shift.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.
Must meet applicable state and local licensing requirements prior to employment when required.

Responsibilities

Safeguard and monitor the client’s premises, including conducting regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
Preserve order by enforcing regulations, directives, and site-specific policies concerning personnel, visitors, and the area.
Provide customer service and information to client employees and customers.
Carry out safety and security procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
Remain vigilant by seeing, hearing, and evaluating potential risks or incidents.
