About The Position

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Detail in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter access points, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other assigned areas, verify access permissions when required, and document security-related observations, incidents, and/or daily activity in accordance with site protocols.
  • Support a professional presence at a public-facing location by providing directions, assisting with routine inquiries, and reporting maintenance, access, and/or life emergency concerns to the appropriate personnel.
