About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol officer for an educational setting in Ashburn, Virginia. The officer will safeguard students, staff, visitors, and families by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access points, and supporting a welcoming environment. The role requires clear communication, exceptional customer service, and professional responses to concerns and security-related situations.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and pays $18.87 per hour. Applicants are subject to background investigation and, where permitted by law, drug screening. State or local licensing requirements may apply before employment.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• CPR certification.
• A guard card or license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families while following site-specific procedures, school district policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing guests, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate school personnel or emergency responders.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and critical situations while following established procedures.
• Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
