About The Position

The Security Officer protects Mattel’s employees, guests, products, and brands at the company’s Distribution Center in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. The role supports Mattel’s Global Security Strategy by providing strong customer service and consistently applying security policies and practices to help create a safe and secure environment. This is an on-site position with schedules that may vary according to business needs. The role includes weekend and holiday work and requires flexibility to work multiple shifts or shift times. The Security Officer performs duties under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Manager, including patrols, access control, monitoring security systems, responding to alarms, documenting incidents, supporting intellectual-property controls, and completing other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager. Mattel provides annual training for First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens certification if the candidate is not already certified.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Valid Security Guard License, if applicable.
First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens certification, or willingness to obtain certification through Mattel-provided training.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and all organizational levels using multiple communication methods and platforms.
Analytical ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned decisions.
Ability to respond to situations confidentially and remain calm during emergencies or stressful situations.
Ability to read and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports.
Strong customer-service and communication skills.
Ability to stand and walk, use stairs, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, or severe weather when assigned to outdoor posts.
Ability to use security equipment, including handheld and walk-through metal detectors, handheld radios, access-control systems, and CCTV.
Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in security, asset protection, loss prevention, law enforcement, or the military.
Working knowledge of PCs and software, including MS Windows, Microsoft Office, CCTV, and access control.

Responsibilities

Support Mattel’s Global Security Strategy by protecting people, assets, and the company’s reputation through customer service and consistent application of policies and practices.
Enforce Mattel Global Security policies and practices to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors.
Complete security duties and related tasks in the Contingency Operations and SOP manuals under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Manager.
Conduct foot, vehicle, and digital patrols to monitor physical security, safety, and facilities-related concerns at the Distribution Center.
Monitor the access control system, CCTV system, and guard tour management system.
Monitor the fire control panel for alarms and equipment problems, and report service or maintenance issues to Maintenance personnel.
Perform assigned administrative data-entry duties for incident documentation and communications using the Microsoft suite.
Enforce access-control standards, including employee badge policies, visitor registration, and check-ins and badging for temporary or contract workers, interns, and other visitor types.
Promote parking-lot safety by patrolling lots, enforcing parking rules, and investigating accidents.
Support intellectual-property confidentiality and controlled-destruction processes in accordance with Mattel standards.
Perform additional responsibilities assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Remain flexible to work multiple shifts or shift times to support business needs.
