About The Position

Mattel is hiring an on-site Security Officer at its Distribution Center in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. The role protects employees, guests, products, assets, and Mattel’s reputation while providing exceptional customer service and consistently applying security policies and practices. The successful candidate is flexible, collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to communicate and prioritize effectively. The Security Officer performs security duties and related tasks under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Manager. Duties include foot, vehicle, and digital patrols; monitoring security and fire systems; maintaining access-control standards; completing administrative and incident-documentation tasks; and supporting parking-lot safety and intellectual-property controls. The schedule may vary with business needs and includes weekends and holidays. The position does not allow remote work.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Valid Security Guard License, if applicable.
One or more years of experience in security, asset protection, loss prevention, law enforcement, or the military is preferred.
Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens, or willingness to obtain certification through Mattel-provided training; annual training is provided.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and all organizational levels using multiple communication methods and platforms.
Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned decisions.
Ability to respond effectively and confidentially to different types of situations and remain calm during emergencies or stressful situations.
Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to read and interpret business policies, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports.
Strong customer-service and communication skills.
Ability to stand and walk, use stairs, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to withstand extreme heat, humidity, cold, and severe weather during outdoor post assignments.
Ability to use security equipment, including handheld and walk-through metal detectors, handheld radios, access-control systems, and CCTV.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of PCs and software, including MS Windows, Microsoft Office, CCTV, and access-control systems.

Responsibilities

Support Mattel’s Global Security Strategy to protect people, assets, and the company’s reputation while providing exceptional customer service and applying security policies and practices.
Enforce Mattel Global Security policies and practices to help maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors.
Complete security duties and related tasks described in contingency operations and standard operating procedure manuals under the direction of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor and Security Manager.
Conduct foot, vehicle, and digital patrols of the Distribution Center to monitor physical security, safety, and facilities-related concerns.
Monitor the access-control system, CCTV system, and guard-tour management system.
Monitor the fire-control panel for alarms and equipment problems, and report service or maintenance issues to Maintenance personnel.
Perform assigned administrative data-entry tasks, including incident documentation and communications using the Microsoft suite.
Apply access-control standards, including employee badge policies, visitor registration, temporary and contract worker check-ins, intern badging, and other visitor procedures.
Promote parking-lot safety by patrolling lots, enforcing parking rules, and conducting accident investigations.
Support intellectual-property confidentiality and controlled-destruction processes in accordance with Mattel standards.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Work across multiple shifts or shift times as needed to support business needs.
