Requirements

  • Must have all state required permits.
  • High School Diploma, Weapons Permit, Active Guard Card, Baton Permit, and First Aid/CPR certifications are required at the time of appointment, or have the ability to obtain such permits within 6 months of appointment.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Current California driver license.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must complete continuing education and training during employment at a minimum of twice per year.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Required to maintain a valid and active weapon permit to carry out job duties consistent with carrying a firearm.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining proficiency with a firearm, including the ability to demonstrate proficiency upon request.
  • Ensuring that established rules, regulations, policies and procedures are carried out at all times.
  • Physically pursuing, detaining and/or arresting a patron or employee.
  • Investigating accidents, thefts and disturbances.
  • Testifying in court as needed.
  • Providing escorts as needed
  • In the event of an emergency, ensuring that established policies and procedures pertaining to safety and security are carried out.
  • Unlocking appropriate doors for employees as needed.
  • Providing emergency first aid in appropriate situations.
  • Operating the following equipment: Portable radio, electric cart, and parking lot transportation carts.
  • Driving a company-provided truck or other vehicle.
  • Hand-writing incident reports. Occasionally using a computer to complete incident reports.
  • Pushing an occupied wheelchair and/or carrying one end of an occupied stretcher to transport patrons and/or employees as needed. Lifting a patron/employee into a wheelchair and/or stretcher as needed.
