About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of an assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to integrate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily work. The position is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, with available shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., or 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The pay rate is $15.00 per hour.

Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in various weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. Uniform and grooming requirements include covering tattoos, with tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands not allowed; removing facial piercings while on duty; and maintaining clean-shaven facial hair except for a mustache, with clean, neatly trimmed, naturally colored hair.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
• Demonstrate commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people in any circumstances.
• Possess initiative and sound judgment in evaluating and reacting to situations.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
• Good problem-solving skills and high attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.

• Comply with the stated uniform and grooming requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of constant improvement.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as required.
