About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer in Newark, New Jersey, you will serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. You will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service, clear communication, professionalism, agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The pay rate is $21.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor and control facility access by verifying credentials, screening visitors, documenting entries and exits, and directing drivers, vendors, and guests according to site requirements.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations, escalating issues according to established procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking locations, trailer yards, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Maintain accurate security logs, incident reports, and access records, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
