About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer supporting a retail and mall location in Aberdeen, Maryland, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. You will provide customer service to visitors, staff, and retail tenants, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related needs with integrity. The role is scheduled for daytime shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and pays $16.50 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and retail tenants by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, taking part in emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, common areas, and retail spaces for unusual activity and report observations according to site procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail location, including common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
