About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer at a healthcare location in Cambridge, Massachusetts, you will provide a welcoming, professional presence while supporting access control, visitor management, and security-related communications. You will help maintain an organized entry point, respond to alarms and inquiries, and deliver outstanding customer service. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at a rate of $19.86 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Experience with access control and badges.
Experience with alarm panels.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Greet and screen visitors; verify identification and access authorization; issue visitor credentials; and maintain visitor and access records.
Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and communication systems from the front desk, and report unusual activity or security concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations, following established protocols and contacting emergency services when appropriate.
Direct patients and visitors, answer routine inquiries, and help maintain a welcoming environment while deterring unauthorized access.
