About The Position

The Security Officer maintains the overall security of the assigned facility by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer is expected to integrate Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork into daily work. The position pays $14.00 per hour and is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens. The prescribed uniform and grooming standards require tattoos to be covered (tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed), facial piercings to be removed while on duty, facial hair to be clean-shaven except for a mustache, and hair to be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color. Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
• Demonstrated commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people in any circumstances.
• Initiative and sound judgment in evaluating and responding to situations.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of constant improvement.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
