About The Position

Provides security services to promote a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, physicians, and assets. This role involves proactive monitoring, timely responses to security threats, and investigation of security incidents. The officer will maintain knowledge of and follow policies regarding alarms and emergency preparedness plans, facilitate drills, and provide information and assistance to staff and visitors. Additionally, the role includes managing facility access and surveillance systems, handling violent behavior, monitoring critical systems, performing threat and hazard assessments, and acting as a liaison with local law enforcement.

  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire.
  • Driver - Valid driver's license and 21 years of age required upon hire.
  • AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Level III Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
  • Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises and other organizational properties.
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
  • Facilitates planned drills and simulations.
  • Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
  • Manages facility access and security surveillance systems.
  • Manages violent behavior patients and visitors utilizing crisis management training.
  • Monitors critical systems such as fire alarms, generators, elevators, and emergency call boxes.
  • Performs threats and hazard assessments by both foot and vehicle patrol.
  • Acts as a liaison with local law enforcement.
