Security Officer- Part Time
About The Position
GardaWorld Security Services is hiring a part-time Surveillance Security Officer to monitor and protect people, property, and sensitive assets. The officer will observe surveillance screens, identify potential threats, patrol designated areas, control access, respond to alarms and incidents, and document actions taken. Duties may include work at security operations centers, call centers, parking gatehouses, and warehouse facilities. The role requires open availability to cover shifts as needed, including mornings, evenings, and overnights. Weekend work is required, and hours are not guaranteed to be full time. The position requires the ability to walk and stand for more than eight hours. Uniforms are provided at no cost. The starting hourly wage is $24.00; DailyPay is available to GardaWorld employees. Benefits depend on hours worked and contract terms.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent (GED).
- At least two years of Security, Military, and/or Law Enforcement experience.
- Active Virginia DCJS security license.
- At least 21 years of age, as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.
- Ability to pass an extensive screening process.
- Experience using Microsoft applications or Google applications and security systems.
- Experience with incident and DAR reports.
- Ability to walk and stand for more than eight hours.
- Availability to work mornings, evenings, and/or overnights, including weekends, and flexibility to fill shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Patrol sensitive areas to identify suspicious activity.
- Verify identities and control access to secure areas.
- Respond quickly to threats or incidents.
- Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras.
- Document incidents and actions taken, including incident and DAR reports.
- Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks.
- Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents.
- Help ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property.
- Validate identification for incoming personnel, employees, and visitors, and maintain entry and exit logs for transport vehicles at perimeter gates.
- Monitor loading docks to ensure high-value IT equipment and data assets are securely loaded or unloaded without unauthorized access or tampering.
- Conduct foot or vehicle patrols around the lot, trailer parking zones, employee parking lots, and exterior fence lines.
- Monitor interior and exterior surveillance cameras, fire systems, and motion sensors from a central security desk and respond to detected breaches.
- Conduct warehouse sweeps to ensure sensitive data storage cages, high-security zones, and facility doors remain locked and comply with data protection protocols.
