About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol security officer to support a major public transportation location in Jamaica, New York. The officer will safeguard passengers, visitors, staff, and the site through routine patrols, visible presence, observation, customer service, and responses to incidents and emergencies. The role pays $23.88 per hour and follows a schedule that includes overnight and afternoon shifts.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a background investigation, as permitted by applicable law.
Successful completion of a drug screen, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, using problem-solving skills.
Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with site procedures.
