About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a utilities location in Kahului, Hawaii, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing site access, monitoring entry points, conducting patrols, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide customer service and clear communication while helping deter incidents. The role is part of Allied Universal’s team, where flexibility, teamwork, integrity, and a caring culture guide each shift. The posted schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM. The pay rate is $27.58 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control entry and exit points; verify credentials and authorizations; maintain visitor and contractor access records; and report unauthorized access attempts or irregularities.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders according to established procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report security concerns, damaged access points, and unusual conditions.
Prepare clear, accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
