Requirements
- Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, housing-related areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and movement within assigned areas, verify credentials as required, and assist with enforcing post orders, visitor procedures, and location rules.
- Support daily operations by preparing reports, maintaining accurate activity logs, communicating with supervisors and/or site contacts, and assisting during emergencies, evacuations, and other security-related events.
