About The Position

As a Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location in West Columbia, South Carolina, you will safeguard clients by managing access points, verifying badges and visitor access, monitoring activity, and providing customer service. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and help deter security-related incidents. The position is full-time and pays $14.00 per hour. The schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and authorized entry, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related records.
Screen visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel according to site procedures and direct them to appropriate check-in areas.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, employee entrances, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
