About The Position

As a full-time unarmed Security Officer at an airport location in Columbus, Ohio, you will safeguard clients and support a secure environment. You will serve travelers, visitors, employees, and tenants while monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control operations, and following site-specific policies and emergency procedures. The position requires clear communication, customer service, and use of computer or tablet systems. Pay is $20.08 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Access control and badge experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and tenants while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport terminals, parking areas, roadways, restricted-access points, and perimeter areas.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, suspicious activity, and critical situations; notify appropriate airport personnel or emergency responders.
Monitor access points and observe activity for potential policy violations or unusual conditions to help deter unauthorized access.
Prepare clear and accurate reports about incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related activities.
