About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to conduct access control at an industrial facility in Bethpage, New York. The role provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The position pays $17.96 per hour and is scheduled Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access at entry points, verify credentials and authorization, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery arrivals and departures.
• Communicate site access requirements to commercial vehicle operators and direct authorized traffic to designated areas in accordance with location procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating information through established channels as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
