About The Position
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Vanceboro, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government location. You will conduct routine armed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional communication and customer service. This is a full-time driving position scheduled for daytime shifts Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, 5:45 AM–6:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.50 per hour.
Requirements
- At least six months of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

- Armed guard card or license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, staff, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and parking locations at a government corrections location.
- Monitor activity and observe for unusual conditions; report security concerns, policy violations, hazards, and suspicious activity according to site procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations, following established protocols and direction from authorized personnel.
- Maintain accurate daily activity reports, patrol logs, incident documentation, and other required records in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and Allied Universal procedures.
